brAIN VOMIT |
Those moments where ideas just spew out of your head...congrats you just brain vomited. Yes, brAIN VOMIT is my Artistic Journal, a place for random drawing dumpage and charting inspiration. |
Artistic Journal: 4/4/13 This is a quicky rough painting. He makes me squishy and snuggly, and for a while now I wanted to draw feels. I’ve just resisted since it shows so much exposure.
I may refine it.
Artistic Journal: 4/4/13 Merfishes I did a while ago. My friend wanted a tattoo of a mermaid. She hadn’t hit me up of what she wanted precisely, but that didn’t stopped me from having fun with them.
Two of the Sailor Scouts I finished.
Sailor Mars
Sailor Sun. Is it canon? No…but I made one anyway. Huzzah. My reference is a Leo and her ruling “planet” is the sun, so it was meant to beeeee.
So for funsies I’m designing my peeps as Sailor Scouts both their traditional attire with some modifications and a modern urban redesign, which the uniforming attire is “Anything with a hoodie”. That way they are ordinary looking people doing extraordinary thing without the glitz, glamor, and iconic super suit just to be…phenomenal.
I feel like I haven’t been keeping Luna’s face as on-model as I could, so here’s some expressions I did as exercises. Part of a bunch of sketches I’ve been doing (these ended up being my favorites). Might be more later :]
Studio Ghibli’s My Neighbor Totoro / Tonari no Totoro
Artist of the Week 3/17
Miss Van.
I didn’t know she took her art to the STREETS! I don’t see much street art in my area, and I don’t count the typical half done graffiti words. I love how her figures have volume. Actually I think after observing her and Chris Sanders my drawings looked less flat. That was instantly commented on when I had a figure drawing course. “Look at that vooluuuume!”
Artistic Journal 2/17: Another progress of concept art.
Artistic Journal 2/17:
Since I posted a midterm. I’ll show older art. This was done during Christmas Break, while the Lost Reindeer was being worked on these recent weeks. The differences are obvious since now I’m learning more of composition, how to choose color and etc. If I have time I would love to revisit and kick my own butt with a revamp.
Artistic Journal 3/17:
It’s been a busy week and I hadn’t posted much. This is a midterm project of taking 4 images made in class and do a conceptual painting. This is from a story brief of mine.
Artistic Journal 3/11: I’m modeling a dragon in CG, and if you’ve seen his original concept (well he was a she then in my mind …and at times sexless) he was quite the realistic animalistic dragon. My teacher is pushing to make him more expressive, so I did some inspiring sketches, and I must admit he’s so DAMN ADORABLE!
I have to think of a name for him. Thus far my mind is saying Riley.
Artist of the Week// 3/9/13
I should do this more often find a different artist each week. This week I’m closing with Thomas Kinkade. Sorry for the lack of multiple pictures I was hoping I could upload more via url since I snagged this from my pinterest (my other art collection site).
I think most people know of him by all of his Disney art he did like Bambi’s First Spring; I can’t lie I found him through that too, but he’s such an AMAZING artist especially with how he utilize lighting. It was quite saddening that one day the MSN homepage told me he passed a few years ago, because at that young age he was the only modern living artist I knew by name to look towards.
Artistic Journal: 3/7 Figure doodles yay! A buddy thinks my process was oddly silly. In short I thought of ways I twisted and bent myself, remember how it felt. then doodle it.
That’s how I handled expressions. If I lacked a convenient mirror, make the faces anyway but pinpoint where the tension, pressure, and pull is at. 83
Artistic Journal 2/7:
This was my goodnight doodle I think…Monday. Yeah I was ready to crash.
Look… a cast lineup…
I’m thinking about doing the comic completely in this style… but that would mean remaking everything. Ugh. Will it ever...
Designed a buddy of mine’s album cover for his first EP.

Noëlle Triaureau (Hotel Transylvania)
The animation in this movie was really good and I had a few good laughs...
Some fluff art of Ivy. This is part of a larger project I had started but which I’m not sure I’ll ever finish.
There’s a larger version here.
Decided to color that last bit of concept art and add some closeups of Dagger and Hau. I just can’t leave some things alone XD.
Sorry for the wait...
I feel like I haven’t been keeping Luna’s face as on-model as I could, so here’s some expressions I did as exercises. Part of a bunch of sketches...
